tl;dr Properly prepare your images, upload to Printful or Printify, then connect that to Shopify or Woocommerce.

All artists should have a Print On Demand (POD) storefront or another option for people to buy prints/merchandise. It’s a simple way to expand income streams, and people like physical art. Win-win. Art is nice to hang in a home, and even NFT guys want real life objects.

JPGs hit different when they’re on a wall.

For example:

SuperRare is opening a temporary physical location in NYC. The rotating gallery of NFTs will bring further mass exposure.

No matter how you want to display your art, there’s a demand somewhere.

The main downside of POD, at this time, is potential supply chain disruptions. It can be mitigated with access to multiple suppliers, though you’ll have to stay on top of pricing.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, though…

Step 1: preparing your images

Better images = better POD results.

In most cases:

  • JPG or PNG file format

  • sRGB color profile

  • 300 DPI

  • 36” x 36” or larger if possible (Printful’s largest item, a blanket, is 50″ × 60″. Posters and canvas prints are 24” x 36”)
