Yes. Art made with machine learning (rudimentary Artificial Intelligence) is still art.
I see it as a new take on the concept of master and apprentice, popular during the Renaissance. Master artists like Donatello didn’t create everything by themselves. They had legions of assistants and apprentices, all collaborating on creative visions.
AI is either (1) just another tool for the digital age, or (2) it’s a new type of apprentice, for artists to maximize creativity.
