Why Everyone Should Learn More About Art
25+ reasons why aesthetics matter in all aspects of life
Art is useful from a business perspective and for everyday life. Here are some reasons why everyone should know a little about artistic endeavors:
Entrepreneurs:
Less reliance on freelancers - don’t wait hours or days for small changes, when you can do them yourself
Understand if a freelancer’s work is good or if they’re ripping you off
Lower costs - don’t pay $5,000 for a branding package when you can DIY for free
Better understand multiple aspects of how to run a business (graphics, websites, etc)
Immediately launch or relaunch ideas to see if they gain traction before fully committing - you don’t need to hire anyone to make a website/etc for an idea you’re not sure about
Increased ability to network with high-net-worth individuals at art galas and other upscale events
Spot trends early and capitalize on new visual techniques to elevate your brands
Train your creative thinking capabilities so you can run businesses more flexibly and easily pivot when needed
Take breaks from the daily grind by picking up an art-related hobby (painting, sculpture, guitar, etc) or going to museums to unwind
Everyday life:
Improved quality of life - beauty and aesthetics matter, since people are affected by their environment
People can be driven to create something, and art can serve as a conduit to express that divine spark within
Enhanced cultural and/or religious identity
Recognize black-hat and gray-hat marketing tricks
Increased ability to discuss more topics - art isn’t just for the sake of art; it frequently involves historical, political, and theological ideas
If you’re interested in going to art school, don’t - you can learn everything you need to know right here on Substack/Twitter
Learn how to start a side business by selling your work (paintings, jewelry, cooking utensils, cookware, sculptures, etc) and/or services (interior design consulting, graphic design, UI/UX design, etc)
Create handmade gifts for Christmas, birthdays, or other events
Increase quality of living with an art hobby (like woodworking or painting) which can be done alongside a partner, spouse, child, friend, etc.
Gain exposure to interesting topics you otherwise wouldn’t have come across
Be able to articulate why you like or dislike a piece of artwork
Understand how and why to fight back against bug-eater-funded demoralization campaigns
Ugliness can lead to more ugliness, with the Broken Windows Theory being a prominent example
Awareness of artistic merit in the broader public sphere can divert government funds from useless ‘woke’ ventures (like CRT and greenwashing) into the arts. Museums also need this type of pushback before they’re overly infected with blue-haired harpies that would rather destroy the past than preserve the greatest feats of humanity
Reinvigorate the arts so it’s less “banana taped to a wall” and more like Renaissance ideals funded by wealthy patrons; become a cultural ambassador
Decorate your home with art that’s based and whitepilled, to enhance your environment and flex on visitors
Improve your personal sense of style to become more attractive and capitalize on the Halo Effect
